¿Quiénes deberían ser los héroes de los jóvenes?
Why young Spaniards are increasingly looking beyond the famous for their role models.
Until recently, the answer to 'who's your hero?' would have been a singer, footballer or actor. Today, a growing number of Spanish-speaking young people answer differently: a teacher, a nurse, a scientist, an activist. The shift reflects a deeper cultural conversation about what we value — and it's exactly the kind of conversation top-band GCSE answers tap into.

Recent surveys of Spanish secondary students show that the most-cited role models are:
